Ronald McDonald House Southampton
It's been a very busy time recently! I attended a meeting with Hound Parish Council on Monday. It was good to see several members of the public at our meeting; the parish council is keen to have more involvement with parishioners. One particular concern was the recent vandalism and anti-social behaviour in our village.
On Tuesday, I went to Eastleigh House for a meeting of the Audit and Resources Committee of Eastleigh Borough Council. Our work is in monitoring and managing the resources of the Council and especially considering financial matters that affect the Council.
On Thursday, I took part in a meeting for the Board of Governor's for Ronald McDonald House Southampton. This is a charity that provides accommodation for families when their children are receiving medical treatment in hospital. It's a wonderful facility that allows families to stay close to their children and really makes a difference when families are going through really difficult times. My son was born with a serious heart condition and we've stayed at the House previously and know very well what a great job the staff make, with their welcoming and understanding approach. I'm with my friend Mike Thew from Ex Saints in the photo below, our Chair of the Board. We have lots of exciting plans for the future of the House, including our Christmas party on Saturday 8th December 2018.
